Northwood Space Raises $375M to Expand Satellite Ground Network
Northwood Space Corp. secured $375 million to scale its shared, multi-orbit ground network serving commercial, U.S. government, and allied customers.
Northwood Space Corp., a Torrance, California-based company building ground infrastructure that links satellites to Earth, announced Monday it has raised $375 million in new funding, according to a company statement released Nov. 2, 2026.
The capital is earmarked to scale Northwood's shared, multi-orbit ground network, a system designed to serve a broad mix of customers including commercial operators, U.S. government agencies, and allied-nation clients. The multi-orbit architecture suggests the network is built to accommodate satellites operating across different orbital regimes, from low-Earth orbit to geostationary positions, a capability increasingly critical as the satellite industry diversifies its orbital footprint.

Ground station infrastructure has emerged as a strategic bottleneck in the broader space economy. As the number of operational satellites climbs rapidly, the ability to reliably downlink data and maintain command-and-control links becomes a competitive differentiator. Shared network models like Northwood's aim to reduce the cost burden on individual satellite operators who would otherwise need to build proprietary ground assets.
The funding round underscores sustained investor appetite for space infrastructure plays beyond launch vehicles and satellite manufacturing. By positioning itself as neutral, shared infrastructure, Northwood targets a segment of the market that grows in value as any customer's constellation expands, without requiring Northwood itself to operate satellites.
